Sounds obvious, right? It’s the most important element of school success, but it’s often overlooked. Not at PVD Prep. We obssess over high-quality classroom instruction every day in every class.

Great schools do many things well. But we believe our most important responsibilty is developing fluent readers. Fluent literacy is superpower for all students - especially multilingual learners.

We believe middle schoolers thrive when school is safe and predictable. We care a lot about routines, procedures and spaces like advisory and community meeting that help create an environment where everyone feels welcome.

We are a proudly diverse school community. We strive to be an anti-racist school in everything we do. We welcome all learners and reject bigotry in all its forms.

PVD Prep was founded by Providence educators and families. We only serve Providence families and we provide a preference in our lottery for students enrolling from Providence’s lower-performing elementary and middle schools.
